Jonah went to war in 1914 to fight for his country but was killed in his first battle. The battle of Geravelt in Belgium. The battle of Ypres or "wipers" as it was called by the soldiers. His body was never found and his name is on the Menin Gate in Ypres and on the war memorial in Maesteg. He was 18 years old.
