TV Authoring Guidelines
Enhanced television has aspects of two technologies; computers, where the content is authored, and television, where it is viewed. The television experience has remained essentially the same for fifty years. TV Enhancements must be designed to accommodate the technical limitations and user expectations of the television experience. Every attempt should be made to keep the ITV experience as familiar as possible to the viewer. Keep complexity to a practical minimum and response times short.

Digital Video Production
Viewing video productions is a very popular activity in this day and age. It might be at the movie theater, over broadcast or cable television, on DVD or VHS tape, or from a video server on a local area network. The promise of streaming video to the majority of home desktop computers over the Internet is just around the corner, as we see broadband networks proliferate. This requires a high-bandwidth connection, a fast microprocessor, and the latest decoding software. There is something mystical and wondrous surrounding the production of high quality video. Coupled with the complexity of production tools, a lack of knowledge helps keep the promise of distributed video to the desktop a thing of the future. Given that production equipment is now within the budget of hobbyists, and the fact that software applications are highly evolved and much easier to use, the door has been flung open to anyone with creative ideas and the incentive to learn how to produce digital video. Creating digital video involves these steps:

NTSC Safe colors
A graphic (such as a Menu) played on a NTSC television may have special requirements. If you use saturated reds or yellows, they may \"bleed\" on the TV screen, other colors wash out or some parts may flicker while the same content looks perfectly fine on your computer monitor.

Sony Micro MV Format.
maddrummer3301

Here are some links about the Sony Micro MV Format. Nice writeups.

For MICROMV, Sony also uses MPEG-2 format, but at a higher 12 Mbps rate. By increasing the data rate, the camcorder hardware can be
designed to still create good-looking video while compressing in real time.
You may notice more artifacts such as color fringing than with DV, especially in difficult shooting situation,
but the end result is certainly quite good quality.
MICROMV also is prone to introducing blockiness at the start of clips and a freeze-frame at the end of each clip,
so you will need to be careful to keep the camera running a little longer so you can trim your captured clips.
