General Abilities Test Practice Questions The GAT II comprises five tests, covering verbal, non-verbal, numerical, spatial and mechanical reasoning. You will be given 15 minutes for the verbal section and 20 minutes for each of the other sections. Some companies will ask you to sit all the tests, whereas others will probably just ask you to sit a combined Mechanical and Spatial test or a combined reasoning test. You should be told in advance which you will be sitting. You should be offered to take a short break between each test. Below, you will find examples from all five GAT II tests. The Verbal TestThis test is about the relationships between pairs of words. In each question you are given one pair of words and you have to decide how they are related. Then you have to choose a word, from the six given, which would complete another pair of words. The missing word is shown by a question mark. The second pair must be related to each other in the same way as the pair you have been given.
