Rhine Cruise 2001
I have not attempted to improve the quality of these old clips but have simply split the large file up into several small sequences and then inserted an opening title.

Happy New 2016
We celebrated the Christmas Period with Festive pub meals at
1. The
Whitehouse
2. The Boathouse.
Christmas Dinner was at the Toby Carvery,
Shenstone (Known locally as The Highwayman)
On Tuesday 22 December 2015
we attended an Aladdin Pantomime at the Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre. Neil had
arranged the two front rows for members of the PPFC Community Centre, Gail and
myself sat at the very front.
New Year was celebrated in our traditional
manner of taking a mini holiday with other members of the PPFC Community Centre.
This year it was to Scarborough with a Harry Shaw coach arranged by Neil. During
this break we also made visits to Harrogate, Whitby, Bridlington and York.
I have made an alteration to the layout of my website. The Video albums have
now been merged with the photo albums. This should make items easier to find
plus the videos have now been cross-referenced much better than they were
previously

September 2014
The main highlight of September was our trip to Ireland (Eire) with Shearings Holidays. Its title "Castles and Country Houses" aptly describes this holiday. Please click the photographs below to view each album:
Cashel and Cahir | Portumna and Birr | Roscrea Castle
and Damer House |
Russborough and
Finnstown |
To Roscrea |
The month ended on a sad note with the passing away of Vera Baldwin (Paul's Mother in law) and also our pet dog Lucy.
Several changes have been made to my Photo Album Pages which hopefully will make it easier to locate individual pictures. The front-page has been redesigned to show Just 5 categories 'Chronological' 'Individuals' 'Locations' 'Other Albums' and 'Weddings'.
I have also increased the number of albums under the category 'Locations' which again should make finding pictures easier.

Wedding at Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings
On Saturday 31 August 2013, Pete and Karen's daughter Helen married at Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings, Stoke Heath, Bromsgrove, Midlands B60 4JR. John, Carol, Gail and myself attended what turned out to be the best wedding we have ever attended. Not simply the fact it was held in the grounds of the museum which includes a model railway (We were all treated to a ride!), The National Telephone Kiosk Collection, a collection of 25 historic buildings including a Windmill, We also had the pleasure of watching a Jacobite Rebellion Weekend where an 18th century Redcoat at an authentic military encampment with soldiers preparing to quell the 1745 Jacobite Rebellion.
The wedding itself comprised of 2 separate services, the first was the actual marriage which took place in the atmospheric Guesten Hall beneath its magnificent 14th-century roof. This was followed by a blessing performed in Bringsty Church, a traditional Victorian tin chapel. Following our 3 course meal - Gail had beef, I had duck, a vegetarian meal was also available. John, Pete and myself plus another guest enjoyed a game of crown green bowls. Other lawn games were available including croquet. The evening was rounded off with live music from a group.
My Nephew Liam still has my Camera - he is doing a college project, so the only photographs I was able to take were with my mobile phone. My collection of images can be seen by clicking the link below.

Updated Google Mapping System
Our Photograph albums have been superimposed upon Google Earth for several weeks now. As I have been adding more of my albums to the mapping system I noticed that the list began to spill over into a second page. Items not on the currently displayed page did not show up on the map and so I had to make some alterations. |
|
There are now 3 Albums: 1. UK - photographs taken in the UK 2. Europe - Photographs taken in Europe and any adjoining areas such as Egypt. 3. USA - photographs taken in North America / Canada. You will also see two more albums: 4. Worldwide with layers. This is the new Google Mapping system which is still in development. Presently I cannot add hyperlinks and thumbnails though Microsoft have stated they intend to add these options at a later date. Here you can select all or any of the 3 above albums. 5. Worldwide Cumulative. This is the original mapping system with thumbnails, hyperlinks to the albums and also street view. However you have to keep in mind that the lists are spread over pages. Simply find an album on the map and click on the marker to bring up a text box. Here you will see a thumbnail picture. If you click that thumbnail it will lead you straight into the album. |
