After leaving school Trevor was training to become a professional golfer at Little Aston Golf Course.He later joined West Midlands Constabulary - Later to become West Midlands Police. His collar number was PC710. He initially worked at West Bromwich Police Station and also became the Police Social Club Secretary. After passing his examinations to qualify for for promotion to Sergeant he moved to Walsall Police Station and joined the Traffic Department. However before he pursued promotion he emigrated to Canada on 27 February 1978. There he became a Constable with Peel Regional Police at Brampton, Ontario.
