Subject:- Video Studio 8--Moving Audio Clips
Linking and moving audio / title clips within the timeline of Video Studio 8
Unfortunately Video Studio 8 does not provide any way of linking clips within the timelines.
The best way around this problem is not to let it occur in the first place. (easier said than done)
Be methodical in your approach to editing.
Complete all video editing first.
Cutting clips, add clips, add transitions, add colour clip as a lead-in to the start of the video.
Having completed all video editing, you can safely add titles and audio clips.
So you still need edit the video frames.
All audio / title clips to the right of the edit, will need repositioning.
Quick Method :- Edit the video line by adding or removing frames.
Video Studio 8 provides a means of selecting multiple clips by using 'Shift Click'
Select all clips to be moved and drag them along the timeline by the amount required.
Altering the timeline ruler will help in this operation.
Accurate to one Frame:-
In order to achieve an accurate reposition of the clips it is best to provide a marker.
To achieve this I use the title track.
1 / Place one title marker clip adjacent to the last frame of the video timeline.
2 / Edit the video by adding or removing frames.
3 / All clips including the title marker and will now be out of position.
4 / By Using 'Shift Click' select all audio / title clips to the right of the edited position.
5 / Drag the selected clips until the title marker is adjacent to the last frame again.
The Audio and Title clips are back in their normal position.
